What we collect

Without signing in

Your words, subjects, and notes are stored only on your device (browser local storage) and nothing is sent to a server. When you look up a word's definition, that word is sent to Wiktionary or a dictionary API to retrieve the result — no account information is included.

When you sign in with Google

Signing in is optional. When you do, Google provides your name, email address, and profile photo, which are displayed in the app. Your words, subjects, notes, and deleted item history are synced to a secure cloud database (Firebase Firestore) so they're backed up and available across devices. Only you can access your data — other users cannot.

Analytics

Vocapulet uses Firebase Analytics, which collects basic usage information: app opens, device type, operating system, approximate country, and session length. The app also records when a word is added. This data is used only to understand how the app is being used and to improve it — never for advertising, and never sold.

Data storage and third-party services

Cloud data is stored in Firebase Firestore (Google Cloud, United States) and is accessible to Vocapulet for operating and supporting the service. Definition caches stay on your device only. Your data is never sold or shared with third parties.

Vocapulet uses the following external services:

Your data

You can export your words anytime from the profile menu as plain text or CSV. To delete your cloud data, contact us below and we'll remove it. Local data can be cleared through your browser's site settings.

Age

Vocapulet is intended for users aged 13 and over. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13.

Changes

If this policy changes materially, we'll update the date above and notify users through the app where possible.
